Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
The technology we use at West Coast Family Dental aids in treatment planning and should make your dental appointments run more smoothly. We can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan because we can display digital X-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms.
Our goal is to provide dental care while keeping patients informed about their oral health. This is made possible by dental technology.
Digital X-Rays
Instead of traditional photographic X-ray film, digital X-rays use digital sensors. They generate detailed computer images of teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of your mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. The teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures are all represented flat in this image. Panoramic X-rays are frequently used to aid in planning treatments for dentures, braces, extractions, and implants.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners generate digital dental impressions, an alternative to messy and time-consuming traditional dental impressions. Within minutes, your dentist will take a digital image of your teeth using an optical scanning wand. This device allows your dentist to collect precise data to create digital replicas of your mouth's hard and soft tissues.
Cone Beam Cat Scan
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a type of X-ray machine that produces 3D images of craniofacial structures, soft tissues, nerve paths, and bone in a single scan. CBCT images can allow for more precise treatment planning, such as analyzing your airway for snoring and sleep apnea treatment.
iTero 3D Scanner
The iTero® intraoral scanner takes accurate, 3D impressions of your bite. It allows us to plan your dental treatment in real-time, store data digitally, and create Invisalign clear aligners.
